ROBOTICS / COMPUTER VISION ENGINEER - UAVs, C++, Linux, ROS (Klagenfurt, Austria / Basingstoke, UK)

Location: Klagenfurt, Austria or Basingstoke, UK.

Position Summary: We are seeking a talented Robotics Engineer to join our team in London / South Kensington. In such a role, you will design, develop, and test software components, integrating them into our hardware platforms to drive our cutting-edge robotics systems forward. You will work with the latest technologies, staying at the forefront of your field to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will work closely with our hardware developers and project managers to ensure that our systems meet the needs of clients and are of the highest quality.

Candidate Profile:

    • 2 – 4 years of embedded software development experience.
    • C/C++, Python, ROS, Arduino familiar with Linux. 
    • Experience with drones and/or SLAM technology.
    • ArduPilot / PX4 experience and MAVLink.
    • At least 5 years of experience in flying UAVs is beneficial. 

Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop and test software for our autonomous robotics systems using C++, Python, TensorFlow and ROS.
    • Training models for computer vision/machine learning (traditional image processing, object detection image segmentation).
    • System testing and troubleshooting on test benches and on UAV platforms (CI/CD).
    • Understanding networking systems and long-range video transmission.
    • Research new technologies and techniques to improve our software development process.
    • Assembly and integration of sensors / payloads, test flights and documentation of drone systems.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Artificial intelligence or related field.
    • 2 years experience working in robotics, computer networking engineering, computer vision, or related fields.
    • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and debugging techniques.
    • Strong knowledge of C++, Python, Docker, TensorFlow, PyTorch, ROS and OpenCV.
    • A strong understanding / relevant experience in the system engineering process across the full lifecycle. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

UNREAL ENGINE GAME DEVELOPER - C++, Python (Klagenfurt, Austria)

Position Summary: We are looking for a talented Unreal Engine Developer with experience in simulation or games and robotics engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game development using Unreal Engine, coupled with expertise in C++/Python to integrate AirSim and ArduPilot in Unreal Engine projects.

Responsibilities:

    • Integrate third-party libraries, APIs, and SDKs using Python and C++ to expand the capabilities of Unreal Engine.
    • Utilize AirSim and ArduPilot to create realistic and immersive aerial simulations within Unreal Engine.
    • Collaborate with the hardware and control systems team to ensure seamless integration with physical UAV platforms.
    • Debug and optimise simulations for performance and realism, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a game developer using Unreal Engine, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
    • Proficiency in Python and C++ programming languages
    • Experience with Blender or Fusion360 to design assets for simulation/game
    • Solid understanding of game development principles, physics, and mathematics.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
    • Experience with performance optimization techniques and debugging tools
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with real-world UAV hardware and control systems.
    • Experience with other simulation environments or tools.
